Tween Book Club: Grades 7-9
Book: The Weird Kid, by Greg Van Eekout
The Program: We had a loose discussion while painting our aliens. They actually wanted to talk about other books they were reading more than discussing The Weird Kid so I just went with the vibe I was getting.
Activity: This group loves to keep their hands busy while discussing, and often brings in fidget toys, so I like to provide little activities to do while they discuss. I had these little wooden aliens, space ships, rockets, clouds, stars, etc. leftover from last week’s book club so I had my tweens paint them too!
