Theme: Chameleons & Colors
Opening Songs
Open, Shut Them by Laurie Berkner
First Book
A Color of His Own, by Lio Lionni
Activity: Match the Chameleon to the Leaf
I had 8 different leaves up on the flannel board. I had chameleons that matched each leaf. One at a time, I held up a chameleon, held it to a leaf and asked, “does it go here?” and the kids would say yes or no.
Group Song
I had a little turtle
His name was Tiny Tim
I put him in the bathtub
To see if he could swim.
He drank up all the water
He ate up all the soap
And now he’s home sick in bed
with bubbles in his throat!
Bubble bubble bubble, bubble bubble pop!
Bubble bubble bubble, bubble bubble pop!

Activity/Song: Color Matching with Dogs
I passed out little dogs of different colors. We sang the following song and the kids brought up their dogs as the color was sung.
If you have a red dog, red dog, red dog,
If you have a red dog, please bring it up!
Repeat with: Pink, Orange, Green, Blue, and Yellow
